Permanent Electrician Job - Nottingham Based - National role - £30k (£40-£45k OTE) - 415v electrical controls

Your new company
You will be working for a large national groundwater company. They have taken on more contracts so are looking for 2 permanent electricians to join their team. The company believes in progression and promoting internally, they will support you in any aspirations you have and offer the ability to work around the world.

Your new role
You will be based out of the Nottingham depot but working around the country.

You will be responsible for installation and certification of 3 phase 415v electrical controls. This will be working on dewatering systems comprising of multiple electric pumps, mains distribution, temporary cabling, and auto mains failure systems.

Your role will include the preparation of equipment prior to delivery to site, this includes but is not limited to: 

• Prepare, test & certify pump control panels, switchgear enclosures, isolators and distribution equipment.
• Prepare, test & certify electric pumps (typically 1 – 37kw)
• Connect pump cables using heat shrink or resin joints.
• Install power distribution cables (typically 2.5 mm to 10 mm 4 core SWA)
• Connect isolators & 16amp plug/socket connections
• Install pumps in wells, sumps, or pump stations
• Installation & connection of groundwater instruments and flow monitoring devices (volt free, low volt, 110v, 240v
• Connection of control cabins (typically 150 – 400amp) to mains, diesel generator and earthing as required.

During Running Phase (Working mostly on your own you will):

• Carry out routine inspection and follow maintenance schedules of dewatering installation on different sites or locations.
• Production of electrical condition reports
• Carry out monitoring and report water levels and pump operation
• Liaise with our clients supervisors / managers on corrective actions required
• Respond to alarm call outs. Carry out fault finding and respond appropriately.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of domestic, commercial and industrial electrics. You will hold your C&G 2391 (or 2394&95), with experience of testing, NVQ 3, AM2, 17th Edition and hold an ECS card. You will have previous experience with 3 Phase Motors and controls, as well as experience working on major civils or construction projects. A full driving licence is also essential for this job.

Being computer literate and able to use a tablet is essential as you will be using these on a daily basis.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to put in the hours and hard graft, as the financial rewards are generous and substantial.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a permanent contract on £30,000 p/a with the possibility of £40-45k OTE. You will be provided with a company vehicle, mobile, tablet and PPE. You will receive 23 days annual leave + 8 Bank holidays. Overtime and on call shifts are available on a voluntary basis and are paid at a very reasonable rate. Travel time, away pay and accommodation are also paid for should you be required to stay away.
