Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant - Canterbury – Full/Part Time

Your new school
Hays Education are working in partnership with a school in the Canterbury area which provides support to students who required additional support within the classroom. They currently have the requirement for experienced Teaching Assistants/Learning Support Assistants to being in September 2017.

Your new role
You will be supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. You will be responsible for supporting students learning as well as their Social, emotional needs. You will support the teachers with delivering lessons whilst motivating and monitoring the students’ progress. You will be both positive and patient with strong communication skills and initiative.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have previous experience working with children with SEN, knowledge of BSL or Makaton is advantageous, experience of working with students with Dyslexia is also desirable. It is imperative that you can demonstrate positive outcomes when working with students. You should have previous experience of working with secondary aged children and have a good understanding of the national curriculum. You will be enthusiastic in your role, engaging and able to build a positive relationship with the students you will be working with whilst inspiring and encouraging them to get the most out of their education. Being qualified to NVQ Level 2/3 would also be desired.
